The BOSPP on Treasure Hunting for Funds

There is an old saying, 'It takes money to make money'. Well getting investment money has just become easier for low income families. There are new investors that will give $4,000 towards a business investment to every low income family that can save $1,000. These investors will also give the same amount towards college tuition. With $5,000 a family can buy a franchise. The right franchise can earn $50,000 to $100,000 profit a year by the third year. To save $1,000 in a year, only takes $2.74 a day, either by cutting back that much in the budget or by small fund raisers.

...Food Banks

Cut your food costs by getting some of your food from a safe food bank.

..at Garage Sales etc...

Pledge to buy every thing you can from garage sales or freecycle websites, or Craigslist.org until you can afford to purchase them at retail stores. The money you save can be put away for your new business or business expansion.

...in Your Checkbook:

If you just don't have any money to save to start a new business, and you have a checking account, after writing each check and registering each withdraw, round each entry up to the nearest dollar. Then save that the 'invisible' money by acting like it is not there by pretending that you balanced it all to the exact penny. Of course, you could end up spending that extra money on an emergency or overdraft, but if you do not, in a year's time, you could have $1,000 saved in your invisible account.

....in Gardens & Landscaping:

If you are thinking of xeriscaping your yard, but you are short of the time or money needed to start a business or bring and invention to market, consider turning your yard into a native plant garden or dry garden (in the Denver Metro Area). These are gardens where you can grow things that can grown on our local rainfall, like the Purple Cornflower (or echinacea for cold and flu season), and Tepary beans (a drought resistant type of bean). Growing your own echinacea and beans will save you money, and your friends may even pay you for your extra echinacea.

For an example of what a native plant garden might look like drive by The New GreenCO Mile High Garden built by the Mile High Youth Corp at 1005 York. It is open year round.

....in Grocery Stores:

If you looking to cut some of you budget for buying meat, in order to invest in your business, and you are looking for the cheapest meat in the store, shop at the frozen meat section. Usually, the identical cuts of meat that are sold in the fresh meat section, are sold much cheaper in the frozen section. You are going to put the meat in the freezer when you get home anyway, aren't you?

If you must buy fresh meat, shop for the packages at the bottom of the pile, that is where many stores purposely put their cheapest meat packages of they day.

at the bottom of the meat pile, you are more likely to find cheaper packaged meat on the bottom of the pile.

...in School:

Only 5% of people who find themselves needing the services of a food bank are graduates of an occupational education program, while 15% of food bank visitors hold college degrees. When considering colleges, do not ignore trade schools. They can be a thrifty choice, and they may provide the exact educational solution you are needing.

When holiday shopping online, do a Google search with the words, "free shipping" and the store you are shopping at's name. Often you will find free shipping specials that are otherwise easy to miss.
